چکیده

Detlef Weigel, a native of Germany and naturalized US citizen, is a Director at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tübingen, Germany, where he did his PhD work. In between, he was a postdoc at Caltech and a faculty member at the Salk Institute. His main interest in recent years has been genetic variation in plants on a genomeand species-wide scale. He is a recent recipient of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz award of the German Research Council (DFG).
